The “real wireless earphones” segment has been gaining a lot of charm in India recently. Indeed, the latest reports suggest that wearable devices in India registered 80% year-over-year growth in the first quarter of 2020 with a charge of over 4.2 million units. The main reason for this growth is the rise of TWS earphones in India.
Just as a few years ago the budget smartphone was filled with a lot of options, similarly we now have a lot of options for the TWS segment. Smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme have already launched true wireless earphones in India and have brought many new options for consumers at an affordable price.
A few months ago, we did not have as many options for TWS in India as less than Rs 5,000. But, now with many launches, we get a bunch of TWS earphones in the sub-segment of Rs 5,000. If you want to jump on the train and really join the army of wireless stereo earphones, here are the best TWS earphones you should consider.
You can get TWS from smartphone brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme and latest OnePlus. Accessory makers like Noise, JBL and pTron also offer TWS in this segment.
Oppo Enco W31
The second TWS for Oppo in India after Oppo Inn Free, one of the best TWSs for less than Rs 10,000. Oppo Enco W31 is one of the best TWS in the price segment. These earphones have been paired with Realme’s Buds Air, which is also quite similar in price.
Unlike Realme Buds Air, which only likes bass for anything, the Oppo W31 gives sound and powerful bass. You can also get two modes with the Oppo W31: dedicated bass mode here with balanced mode.
For controls, you get double-click and triple-click functionality. On one charge, earphones last for three hours and with this condition you get up to 11 hours. Cases can be charged through Type-C interfaces. However, the buds miss fast charging.
Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Headphones 2
Mi True Wireless earphones 2 earphones, the first pair of Xiaomi from TWS in India, are designed for those who prefer comfort over something else. It supports LHDC (Low Latency, High Definition Audio Codec) which gives 3 times more data output to achieve high quality output. The Buds are equipped with a large dynamic engine of 14.2 mm, and is one of the best in its class.
It comes with dual microphones, secondary microphones are used here to suppress the environmental noise generated when a call is received. A session with TWS can last more than three hours. The box also supports fast charging, which takes about an hour to fill from empty.
As with most wireless earphones, even the Mi TWS 2 has audio latency when playing. For games like PUBG where a slight lag can cost you dearly, this is less than ideal.
Noise Shots X5 Pro
Shore announced a group from TWS this year, and the attraction that stands out from the rest is the Shots X5 Pro. These earphones provide up to 8 hours of battery on a single charge and can last up to 150 hours with the case. Also, you can use the case as an emergency power bank as it comes with a large 2200 mAh battery.
Noise Shots X5 Pro uses TWS Bluetooth 5.0 and distributes a wireless range of up to 10 meters. AptX + AAC uses a Qualcomm chipset featuring Hi-Fi audio. This ensures that the TWS has better range, more stable connections and better battery life.
The sound quality is also good with a good amount of bass. It comes with touch sensors on each bud that can be used to control volume, reject calls / answers, and control media. The IPX7 is also rated waterproof.
Realme Buds Air
Realme Buds Air resembles Apple AirPods, but comes at a very reasonable price. Realme Buds wireless headphones are a great entry point for anyone jumping on the train. It also comes with a dedicated game mode, which provides a theoretical latency of only 120ms.
Realme Buds Air looks somewhat gaudy, and the cap closes in the lowest tug. It comes with a small tray with a Type-C port at the bottom. It also supports wireless charging. The earphones feature a dynamic driver to boost 12mm bass and provide powerful bass.
The Realme Buds Air is priced at Rs 3999 and comes in white, black and yellow options. It can be purchased through Flipkart and Realme website.
If you are looking for an in-year style with good all-round performance then the JBL C100 may be the right choice for you. It provides excellent intermediate vocals, as well as a powerful bass sound. The vocal theater with the JBL C100 is also excellent.
This can be controlled by physical buttons on other earphones, the right key can be used to pause / stop media and calls, and the left button can be used to skip tracks. Once charged, it lasts for 5 hours and has only a micro USB interface for charging.
Baramay one plus
